Grammar Software for Translation

Translating items from another language to English can be a pain, but if you have to do translations for your job or for school, you can make your job so much easier using grammar software. This type of program won't actually translate your documents, but you can use it in conjunction with other translation software to polish the grammar.

Often time, a word-for-word translation from one language to another leaves you with a confusing document that has sentences with out of order syntax and punctuation and sentence structure errors. This is because different languages have such different rules of grammar and sentence structure. In English, for example, passive voice sentences are generally avoided, but other languages may use syntax that transmits into passive voice upon translation.

So, once you've run a document or book through translating software, you can run it through grammar software to check for any errors that make it unreadable. Advanced grammar software will check for sentence structure errors and even stylistic errors like passive voice sentences and sentences that are simply weak. You can also get programs that check for in-context spelling errors, so that if “to” should have been translated as “two,” you'll know it.

While translation software and grammar software aren't capable of checking every single error in a document, they can really help polish up your translated document before you read through it to pick up other little errors in syntax and wording. Once you've used both of these programs, you should have a translated document that is readable and mostly accurate.
